We aspire to build a society where every rural family has access to sustainable livelihoods, clean and healthy environments, nutritious food, and equal opportunities for growth.GVS dreams of a future where agriculture is practiced in an eco-friendly and climate-resilient manner.

Our vision also includes creating awareness among younger generations about environmental responsibility, natural resource conservation, and social harmony so they become future custodians of sustainable development. We strive for a world where women are empowered, vulnerable communities are uplifted, biodiversity flourishes, indigenous cattle and native species are protected, and every individual contributes to building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable planet.

Our mission is to support small and marginal farmers, especially those living in drought-prone and environmentally vulnerable regions, by equipping them with sustainable agricultural practices, integrated farming systems, natural farming methods, and climate-smart technologies that improve both productivity and resilience. We aim to preserve and promote indigenous resources, including native livestock breeds and traditional farming knowledge, while encouraging innovation that strengthens ecological balance and long-term sustainability.

What We Do

  • Sustainable Agriculture $ Agroecology : GVS promotes sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural systems that nurture soil health, strengthen livelihoods, and ensure long-term food security for farming communities. Through agroecological practices, integrated farming methods, farmer field schools, and indigenous wisdom, we empower farmers to adopt eco-friendly approaches that conserve natural resources and encourage sustainable rural prosperity.
  • Indigenous Cow Conservation & Natural Farming : Recognizing the invaluable role of indigenous cattle in ecological balance and sustainable agriculture, GVS has been actively conserving native cow breeds through eco-friendly goshala management since 2010. By integrating indigenous cow-based resources into farming systems, we promote natural agriculture, organic inputs, ecological restoration, and livelihood support for vulnerable rural families.
  • Environmental conservation & Biodiversity Protection : Environmental conservation lies at the heart of GVS, where we continuously strive to restore ecological balance through tree plantation drives, biodiversity awareness initiatives, and ecosystem restoration programmes. Through educational campaigns, bird conservation activities, and global environmental observances, we inspire communities to preserve nature and safeguard biodiversity for future generations.
  • Rural & Tribal Development : Since its inception, GVS has remained deeply committed to the empowerment and sustainable development of rural and tribal communities living in vulnerable regions. Through livelihood enhancement programmes, self-help groups, agricultural support, livestock promotion, and community-driven initiatives, we foster self-reliance, inclusion, and long-term resilience.
  • Women empowerment & Social Welfare : Women empowerment forms a vital foundation of our mission, as we believe empowered women create stronger and more resilient communities. GVS promotes awareness, skill development, education, leadership, and social welfare initiatives that encourage women to actively participate in sustainable rural development and community transformation.
  • Health, Awareness & Community Well-being : GVS actively promotes community wellbeing through health awareness programmes, medical sensitization activities, HIV/AIDS prevention campaigns, naturopathy awareness, and public welfare initiatives. Our Genesis & Leadership

Grameena Vikas Samithi (GVS), Tirupati was established by a group of socially conscious and educated individuals inspired by the humanitarian vision of Shri Baba Saheb Amte, the renowned social reformer and Templeton Prize recipient, whose lifelong dedication toward addressing poverty, illiteracy, hunger, environmental degradation, and social inequality became the guiding force behind the organization. Motivated by a deep sense of responsibility toward vulnerable communities, GVS was founded with a commitment to uplift the livelihoods of marginalized and underprivileged sections of society, creating opportunities for sustainable growth, dignity, and social transformation.

Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Levaka Surya Narayana Reddy, Founder and President of GVS, the organization has remained firmly rooted in rural realities and community welfare. Coming from a farming family in the drought-prone region of YSR Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Reddy personally witnessed the hardships, struggles, and uncertainties faced by farming communities. These early life experiences shaped his compassion, values, and unwavering commitment to empowering farmers and rural families, inspiring him to dedicate his life toward creating sustainable solutions that restore hope, resilience, and prosperity among the most disadvantaged communities.
